Seems like people here can't tell art from porn... It makes me really sad though, there are some beautiful photos and such with nudity, but finding them amongst those so called artworks is hard.

I DO know what you mean about that, though. I happen to stay away from it and pretend it's not there, though I know that isn't the best option.

Even if all of the above were true (and I for one believe that it is) and you did decide to leave, you would be sorely missed....

But that decision, of course, is up to you to make! And I am glad that you will be getting a website soon. They're exciting!

Just makes me wish I could make the rounds about the galleries and and have the power to clean up the crud that is simply porn and not art.

I must say, I have to agree... I also hate these pictures where gils have boobs that could break their spine. It's creepy and unnatural. And for me - no art.

Yes some of the nude photography is fine. I don't have anything against it if its done for the right reasons and in a reasonably tasteful way. A shot with legs akimbo and everything on view is imo needless and does not belong on a site like this. People just try to be alternative and edgy to get attention, and I'm disappointed that this site has been taken over by that kind of stuff.

We need another version of Deviant Art JUST for art! A good percentage of things on this site are not art at all.

Yes I agree. I don't see how taking pictures of peoples' privates is art. It's porn.

I made a journal about this exact subject a while ago too.
I'm sick of (mainly females) that take unartistic photos of themselves in sexual ways over and over and get 1000's cheap page views from it and go on about how popular they are... even though all their watches would be sleazy men and horny boys.
One in particular who I found and noticed a few artists telling her, her photos weren't art at all and just porn and she replied with something like "you're just jealous that you can't get this popular with your art" etc etc
I wish there was a way to stop it but with so many opinions of what 'art' is, I don't see much anyone can do. I love this site, yet the porn, childish behavior and art thefts are getting worse. I sometimes wonder why I stay here, then I remember most sites I go on I didn't feel welcome and then I came here and it just felt right.

lol I would like to pretend its not there, hard when it's in your face almost wherever you go. I go to Browse daily (on the days I have net access, anyway) because I like to check out new submissions to the Animal galleries. This does mean I have to look at the main pages, and most of what I see there just gives a really bad impression of this website.

I would LOVE to have mod power on this site... oh I feel evil just thinking about it

Oh I couldn't agree with you more on that! A new version of dA, free of things that belong in myspace and porn sites would be like paradise.
I've only been on this site for almost two years now and I am pretty disappointed on how this kind of stuff is allowed, if they are to let these kind of things enter this site, then they should change the "Art" from deviantArt really...
