where I've been
Lonelyso from Saturday to Wednesday I was staying with them in sunny Spain. (The groom's parents live there, 10 mins from the Rock.) They're still out there, getting nice tans. (I didn't tan, I just go yellow lol. Oh and don't worry her mum looked after the kitties, we didn't just leave em to fend for themselves haha)
so I'm behind on art and DA again, and I have TONS of art to be getting on with... But I did get to practise photographing something other than animals

so damned cute
I got some dolphin pics too, I'll probably put them on the photography account at some point. Nothing amazing, just like tops of heads lol. And I managed to make another sandhorse but I didn't have my camera with me. It was only a 10minute job anyway, nothing impressive lol
I moan about having a crap job but I'm lucky my supervisor was flexible enough to give me the time off at such short notice... she knows I do a lot anyway, I'm always having to cover for other people.
apart from that, nothing much going on. as I mentioned I've not really done any more art since I finished the arabian (except for a buttload of digital images I've been doing since the beginning of the year, that I still can't show anyone yet), but I have loads planned - I want some more graphite pieces and I'm going to be doing a lot more painting
I have a grey Spanish-type horse prancing in the dust which will be a definite, probably a unicorn painting or 2 and I'm doing a commission piece of 2 cats which will be interesting! Far from being intimidated by the oils which I thought I would be, I'm actually finding my confidence has gone up. I feel like I could paint anything if I put my mind to it. It's good to have a bit of that for a change, instead of feeling like I fail at everything. 
(Ok, I DO fail at everything, bar art.) Now all I need is more time to prove it to myself.
I did get a bit upset while I was away - mainly because I was wondering if I'll ever find anyone who'll want to marry me
(hey I'm 24 now, running out of time!!) But on my last day we went to look in the petshop in Gibraltar, and they sell actual puppies and stuff. (In the UK they'll have birds and sometimes reptiles but that's it.) The puppies looked fine and happy, but there was one ginger Persian kitten behind glass, and she looked SO sad it put a damper on my whole day. The poor thing was obviously either ill or just depressed - she barely looked up when you went up to the glass, just kept her head down, no response at all. Poor little sod had never known love or human affection, all she knew was her lonely life inside this box with faces staring in. I was in tears in the middle of this shopping centre... I would have bought her in an instant but with the innoculations, flight home and then quarantine on arrival in the UK it would have been a bit impossible.
mind you we're tripping over cats at home so maybe not the best idea, anyway. I always thought cats were supposed to be clean animals?... No-one told that to these three. XD They went mad when I got back, so at least I know I'm missed by someone!

In Portugal we also have cats and puppies for sale in pet stores like in Spain, though from all I've seen, all the animals always seen joyful and they never tsya too long in the stores, but I do hate seeing them in glass boxes waiting for someone to come a buy them, it breaks my heart really.
And about the cats, I've two. The female is really clean but the male is always dirty and so it's the female that cleans him all the time XD It's funny because when it happens, he just wants to get away and she'll just grab him and doesn't let him go until she's done

Aw, that kitten affair... you sort of went from "I haven't found the right person to marry yet" to "this little depressedcreature living alone in a box" , so I hope you weren't making any comparisons between the two- for a moment there I thought you were ^_~ which would have been absolutely ridiculous. But! I know what you mean- my cat was like that when we bought her, ill and lonely and staring empty-eyed at the world around her. It makes your teary-eyed every time~
Hope you're doing well! It's great that you've got more self-confidence with the infamous oils now, I can't wait to see what you'll be showing us once you get started again.
