I would have at least attempted some kind of shading, but my excuse (genuine) is due to my murky recollection of how painter works, I accidentally committed the sin of sins and drew on the canvas layer, then moved some of my sketch - thus mucking up everything for the above layers. if you have corel painter and you've done it, you'll understand

this also accounts for that weird line under his belly...
