I had to split it into 2, this one's less interesting but still quite useful, maybe.

Wonderful tutorials. We have a lot of similarities in the way we work xD Only, I've just started out so I'll probably change a lot. And I find it extremely difficult to be blocky and rough at the start, I'm too precise the entire way through >_< Which I'm not sure is a good thing. It might inhibit some of the "life" coming out through the painting? I dunno. I guess people just work differently? xD

It's funny though, Losmios' tutorials helped me out at the start, too xD They're amazing for beginners, I recommend them to everyone who asks how I paint horses.

I wish there was a blender brush in Photoshop, it looks very useful! What I do instead of the blender brush is just use the regular ol' paintbrush on a super low opacity, usually a tone in between the ones I'm blending. Which works alright I guess but it can make it hard to keep the depth of shading. Do you recommend Corel Painter over Photoshop?

But anyway. Just wanted to say that I love your tutorial, it will help lots of people I'm sure ^___^

Beautiful on part one and two :D

I use pretty well the same steps when I work as well although i'm usually rather less careful about it!

Hmmm...

You could try using the smudge tool in photoshop at a low opacity. That's the closest equivalent to blending in painter as far as I have seen.

For digital painting, I think painter is far superior. It's a lot more like working with real media than photoshop and you have a lot more choice in brushes and media. That having been said, great digital paintings are produced in photoshop all the time :)

Lol I can see what you mean.
you know what I love doing? Flicking through wip shots in Preview mode, so it's like a little flipbook thing as it goes through the stages... it can get quite mesmerising. I know it's sad...
